The inner KEELSON resides in a notch cut into the station molds. This piece measures 5/8" x 1 1/4" x 16' and is made of ash.
The keelson is covered over with bead and cove strips as the hull is built. Later, it becomes the piece to which the transverse "floors" are attached.
